In concert with the teachers across the state, Oakland and Alameda teachers will rally at CIty Hall, 4-6 pm, May 14. Meet a 4pm in front of Oakland City Hall followed by a march to the State Building and car caravan to the School Board Meeting, 1025 Second Ave., Oakland.

The California Labor Federation is hosting a Regional Dislocated Worker Summit on the current state of our economy. With major cuts to the state budget and workforce development system, recession looming and potential for many more lay-offs, it is important to bring Labor and Rapid Response (Local Lay-off Assistance Program) together to develop a better working relationship and look at ways to cope with the realities that face us.
